The electric Launch
This is an electric outboard launch of about 12 feet in length that I designed and built in 2011. We only used it once! But it was great fun to build even if it was a bit unpractical. Powered by a 33 lb electric outboard sitting in a well, it moved well. It was just too bulky to get on and off the roofrack single handed.
The Nut Shell
This is my ultralight nut shell boat that I built from 3.6 mm ply. It weighs about 12 kg so is great if you need to carry it. Unfortunatly, I find that the paddling position really hurts my back so that is something I will have to work on. I am thinking of raising the seat a little and adding a back rest.
Mabel
This is Mabel. She is a 15 foot plastic (God forgive me !) dayboat that I believe is a Mayland, but I am not really sure. She may be small but she is great fun and certainly used every weekend during the summer. We have even had a few nights aboard!
We are looking forward to another good summer's use this year and I will of course be adding bits as the season goes on. Like any boat, she is never really finished.
Looks like the First Mate has got the kettle on!

16 foot narrowboat?
Here is something I have been thinking about for a while now,. A plywood narrowboat. All the fun af a small boat but with standing headroom, a small galley and a toilet compartment. Steering would be from the open cockpit up the front.
It might be a while before anything happens on this project but I think it has potential.

A real big narrowboat!
Well me and the first mate have been in discussion and it seems that we are both of the opinion that we are getting fed up with life on dry land and would like to try the more simple and hopefully more fulfilling life afloat. I wont happen just yet but we are seriously thinking of a 50' -60 narrowboat to live on.'
Sadly this means that the micro narrowboat outlined above may never get built but you cant have it all.
I am planning an electric canoe for next year however. Watch this space.
